What You’ll Do

• Assist in the development and implementation of the Enterprise Risk Management strategy.
• Support the Deputy Director in coordinating and executing risk management plans.
• Ensure that appropriate risk responses are implemented effectively.
• Manage the Risk Register for the department, ensuring it is up-to-date.
• Promote education and awareness on risk management principles within the department.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of risk management practices and recommend improvements.
• Facilitate the functioning of Risk Committees across various branches.
• Identify and monitor risks on an ongoing basis, advising on mitigation strategies.
• Support branches in managing their risks and aligning with departmental objectives.
• Conduct yearly risk assessments in compliance with the PFMA.

What You’ll Need

• An NQF level 7 qualification in Risk Management or a related field, recognized by SAQA.
• A minimum of three years of functional experience at a supervisory level in risk management.
• A valid driver’s license (with exceptions for persons with disabilities).
• Strong knowledge of public administration, risk management, and audit practices.
• Excellent presentation, reporting, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in using Risk Management Software and project management tools.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and innovative thinking.
• Competence in research, report writing, and facilitating workshops.
