What You’ll Do
- Assist in the development and implementation of the Enterprise Risk Management strategy.
- Support the Deputy Director in coordinating and executing risk management plans.
- Ensure that appropriate risk responses are implemented effectively.
- Manage the Risk Register for the department, ensuring it is up-to-date.
- Promote education and awareness on risk management principles within the department.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of risk management practices and recommend improvements.
- Facilitate the functioning of Risk Committees across various branches.
- Identify and monitor risks on an ongoing basis, advising on mitigation strategies.
- Support branches in managing their risks and aligning with departmental objectives.
- Conduct yearly risk assessments in compliance with the PFMA.
What You’ll Need
- An NQF level 7 qualification in Risk Management or a related field, recognized by SAQA.
- A minimum of three years of functional experience at a supervisory level in risk management.
- A valid driver’s license (with exceptions for persons with disabilities).
- Strong knowledge of public administration, risk management, and audit practices.
- Excellent presentation, reporting, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in using Risk Management Software and project management tools.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and innovative thinking.
- Competence in research, report writing, and facilitating workshops.
