About the Role
The Department of Education is looking for a dedicated Assistant Director: ECD Infrastructure to join their team at the Head Office in Polokwane. This role is pivotal for the effective management and coordination of facility projects and maintenance in Early Childhood Development (ECD) infrastructure. What You’ll Do
- Manage and coordinate all aspects of facility projects and maintenance for ECD infrastructure.
- Oversee project and maintenance planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Conduct maintenance planning and ensure compliance with project management methodologies.
- Monitor and report on project progress, both planned and unplanned maintenance.
- Manage project and maintenance accounting and financial resources in collaboration with the Supervisor.
- Perform maintenance trend analysis and facility cost research to inform decision-making.
- Support human resource management initiatives within the department.
What You’ll Need
- NQF level 6 or 7 qualification in Quantity Surveying or a relevant equivalent qualification recognized by SAQA.
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience, with at least three (3) years in a supervisory or lower management role in Building Construction and Maintenance.
- A valid South African driver’s license (with exceptions for persons with disabilities).
- Strong skills in people management, program and project management, and financial management.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills.
- Proficient in functional computer literacy, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
