What You’ll Do
- Participate in the development and implementation of departmental financial policies.
- Provide advice on the interpretation and implementation of financial procedures.
- Facilitate changes in public finance management policies and internal controls.
- Train and guide line managers on the latest developments in financial regulations.
- Oversee budget planning, adjustments, and reporting processes.
- Monitor income against budget and perform reconciliations.
- Address internal and external queries, including those from auditors.
- Supervise employees, manage performance, and ensure their development.
- Authorise journals and ensure accuracy in financial documentation.
- Ensure effective cash flow management for monthly reporting.
What You’ll Need
- A minimum of three-year tertiary qualification (NQF Level 6) or National Diploma in Financial Management or a related field.
- Relevant supervisory experience in financial management.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Good numeracy and statistical skills.
- Knowledge of Public Finance Management Act and National Treasury regulations.
- Ability to work under pressure and communicate effectively at all levels.
- Advanced interpersonal skills and problem-solving abilities.
