What You’ll Do
- Provide advice and guidance to client departments on the provincial budget process, including budget formats and reforms.
- Support the implementation of provincial reporting processes by offering training on reporting requirements and formats.
- Assist in the formulation of budget proposals for the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and adjustments budgets.
- Collaborate with the treasury to evaluate departmental budget proposals for various planning and budgeting structures.
- Contribute to the compilation of documentation necessary for tabling provincial appropriation bills in the legislature.
- Guide departments on implementing the Public Finance Management Act and Treasury Regulations.
What You’ll Need
- A three-year tertiary qualification at NQF level 7 in Financial Management, Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Economics, or Finance.
- A minimum of three years’ functional experience in budget management.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with various stakeholders.
- A thorough understanding of the provincial budgeting process and relevant legislation.
