What You’ll Do
- Conduct final reviews of draft Annual Financial Statements (AFS) based on Audit Committee findings.
- Issue reports on findings when the Audit Committee does not approve the AFS.
- Review and assess work-in-progress (WIP) reports from various departments to track project statuses.
- Update the Gauteng Provincial Government (GPG) immovable asset register with completed projects.
- Perform master data clean-up in preparation for SAP implementation.
- Review inventory reports submitted by GPG departments to ensure accuracy.
- Oversee close-out reports on asset verification and ensure updates to the Fixed Asset Register (FAR).
- Monitor annual asset verification processes for all GPG departments.
- Track progress on the implementation of audit recommendations and related projects.
What You’ll Need
- A three-year tertiary qualification (NQF level 7) in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, or a related field, recognized by SAQA.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in Accounting, Auditing, or Asset Management.
- Strong knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and corresponding Treasury Regulations.
- Familiarity with Asset Management Frameworks and financial reporting standards such as GRAP, GAAP, or IFRS.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (including VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables), PowerPoint, and Word.
