What You’ll Do

  • Compile and submit project proposals while implementing approved projects.
  • Conduct evaluations within the monitoring and evaluation framework.
  • Provide ongoing support to farmers, particularly those in the developing sector.
  • Assist with research and demonstration trials under supervision.
  • Offer information on market trends and production practices.
  • Facilitate workshops and planning sessions to identify farmers’ needs.
  • Draft reports detailing technical progress and project outcomes.
  • Promote sustainable agricultural production systems.
  • Support the development of organizational skills within the agricultural sector.
  • Ensure proper administration and implementation of the Agricultural Information Management System (AIMS).
  • Collaborate with implementing agencies and Commodity Project Allocation Committees for project delivery.
  • Uphold Batho Pele principles and the Core Values of the Western Cape Government.

What You’ll Need

  • A relevant 4-year qualification (NQF level 8) in Agriculture or an equivalent qualification recognized by SAQA.
  • Registration with SACNASP or another recognized professional body.
  • A valid code B (or higher) driving license.
  • Strong knowledge of crop and animal production, as well as market dynamics.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven computer literacy in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Good problem-solving abilities and research skills.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Teamwork capabilities and experience in preparing and delivering presentations.
