What You’ll Do
- Manage patient administration processes across a 24-hour shift system.
- Maintain internal controls for revenue collection and process debtor accounts.
- Oversee the banking of revenue collected and ensure proper filing of medical records.
- Facilitate patient classification and re-classification as needed.
- Compile management reports and manage the archiving of patient records.
- Evaluate staff performance according to the performance management system.
- Prepare staff duty rosters, including for ward clerks.
- Control overtime claims and manage queue marshals, porters, and mortuary services.
- Address inquiries related to patient administration and assist with case management.
- Compile daily, weekly, and monthly statistics and reports.
What You’ll Need
- Senior Certificate / Grade 12 with three (3) years of experience in Patient Administration, or a Diploma/Degree (NQF Level 6/7) in Public Administration/Public Management.
- Extensive knowledge of outpatient administration and reception functions.
- Familiarity with PEIS, billing systems, and UPFS user guide/procedure book.
- Understanding of revenue policies and sector financial administration, including PFMA provisions.
- Knowledge of relevant prescripts, such as Government Gazettes.
- Excellent communication and report writing skills, along with computer literacy.
- Ability to work under pressure and be available for extra hours in a shift environment.
- A valid driver’s license is an added advantage.
