About the Opportunity

The SIOC-CDT Bursary Programme is dedicated to empowering students from beneficiary communities to pursue higher education at public institutions. This bursary is specifically for residents or those originating from Gamagara, Ga-Segonyana, Joe Morolong, Tsantsabane, and Thabazimbi.

Successful applicants will be expected to maintain their academic performance and adhere to the terms of the bursary agreement.

Requirements/Qualifications

Eligible candidates must:

  • Reside in or originate from one of the specified communities.
  • Be no older than 35 years by the closing date.
  • Have acceptance or provisional acceptance at a public higher education institution for 2027.
  • Demonstrate financial need and have a household income not exceeding R600,000 annually.
  • Achieve an NSC average of at least 65%.
  • Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to apply.

Benefits

The bursary covers registration fees, tuition fees, accommodation, prescribed study materials, a laptop (once-off), a monthly stipend, and assistive devices for students with disabilities.
