About the Opportunity

Transnet is offering an exciting Work Integrated Learning Programme designed for artisans who have recently completed their trade tests and hold a Red Seal certificate. This 24-month programme provides practical workplace experience, enabling participants to apply their technical and vocational knowledge in real-world settings. Successful candidates will receive comprehensive training, mentorship, and exposure to industry-specific duties.

Key Responsibilities

Participants will engage in routine maintenance and repairs, diagnose and troubleshoot problems, adhere to safety regulations, maintain tools and equipment, and report work completed to supervisors.

Requirements/Qualifications

Applicants must have completed a relevant trade test within the past four years and be between 18 and 35 years old. They should have less than one year of work experience and be South African citizens. Specific requirements include:

– Carpentry: Carpentry Trade Test Certificate
– Instrumentation: Trade Tested Red Seal Certificate in Instrumentation
– Plumbing: Plumbing Trade Test Certificate

Applicants with disabilities should provide a confirmation letter from a medical doctor. Preference may be given to women and persons with disabilities in line with Transnet’s Employment Equity objectives.
