What You’ll Do

  • Assist in developing, revising, and implementing asset management policies and procedures.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on compliance with asset management standards.
  • Execute and implement plans for asset acquisition, maintenance, and disposal.
  • Maintain and review the capturing of all movable assets in the Asset Register.
  • Receipt and capture all movable assets accurately in the asset register.
  • Develop mechanisms to safeguard assets effectively.
  • Implement systems for tracking the movement of assets between various locations.
  • Plan and execute the asset verification process thoroughly.
  • Investigate and report on any asset variances, such as shortages or surpluses.
  • Ensure that the disposal of departmental assets follows the regulated framework.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations of the Asset Register against relevant accounting records.

What You’ll Need

  • An appropriate 3-year National Diploma or B-Degree (or equivalent qualification).
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in asset management and administrative roles.
  • Knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and Supply Chain Management practices.
  • Familiarity with procurement prescripts and asset management systems like LOGIS or similar.
  • Proficient computer skills, especially in the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including excellent report writing abilities.
  • Effective problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
