About the Role
The Department of Public Works and Infrastructure is looking for a dedicated Supply Chain Management Clerk: Provisioning & Logistics to join its team in Gqeberha. This role is crucial as it ensures the seamless procurement of goods and services necessary for public service operations. What You’ll Do
- Receive and capture requests for goods and services from end users.
- Liaise with internal teams and external suppliers regarding procurement.
- Generate purchase orders and communicate with suppliers.
- Follow up on outstanding orders and compile reports on order transactions.
- Verify received goods from suppliers, identifying and recording any damaged or incorrect items.
- Capture goods on relevant registers and ensure their safe keeping.
- Administer paperwork for distributed goods and manage departmental cell phone contracts.
- Capture supplier invoices and assist with stock checks of stores.
- Update order books and submit travel bookings to the agent.
- Maintain equipment and inventory control, while providing logistical support for meetings.
What You’ll Need
- A minimum of a National Senior Certificate / Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
- Computer literacy and basic numeracy skills.
- Ability to gather information and solve problems effectively.
- Knowledge of Supply Chain Management prescripts and LOGIS.
- Familiarity with CSD and Reapatala tracking systems is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills, including report writing and presentation abilities.
- Trustworthy and assertive with the ability to work independently.
