What You’ll Do

  • Develop and implement effective procurement strategies for infrastructure projects.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on procurement and contract management.
  • Collaborate with line managers to address the department’s procurement needs.
  • Lead the sourcing process and manage all related activities to identify the best procurement sources.
  • Monitor and review contractual agreements, coordinating necessary extensions or renewals.
  • Advise on the use of systems for procurement activities and design training sessions for departmental staff.

What You’ll Need

  • A relevant tertiary qualification at NQF level 7; NQF level 8 or 9 is advantageous.
  • Professional procurement and SCM registration (e.g., MCIPS) or equivalent certification.
  • A minimum of five years’ experience at a senior managerial level in infrastructure procurement and SCM.
  • Valid unexpired driver’s license.
  • A Nyukela Public Service SMS Pre-entry certificate submitted prior to appointment.
  • Strong knowledge of SCM regulations and best practices in South Africa.
  • Proven ability to drive change and implement procurement strategies in complex environments.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
