What You’ll Do

• Study and assess case dockets to determine prosecution viability.
• Guide complex investigations, particularly in tax and commercial matters.
• Prepare cases for court, including drafting charge sheets and court documents.
• Present the State’s case in court, including leading and cross-examining witnesses.
• Manage court proceedings and case flow independently.
• Handle appeals and reviews, providing legal opinions and arguments.
• Mentor and guide investigators and junior prosecutors.
• Collaborate with partners in the criminal justice system to enhance community engagement.

What You’ll Need

• An LLB or an appropriate legal qualification for serving prosecutors.
• At least five years of post-qualification legal experience.
• Demonstrated experience in litigation, particularly with common law offences.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Proven ability to work independently and maintain professional credibility.
• Familiarity with laws such as the Companies Act, POCA, and FICA is advantageous.
• Strong drafting and legal research skills.
