What You’ll Do
- Study and assess case dockets to determine prosecution viability.
- Guide complex investigations, particularly in tax and commercial matters.
- Prepare cases for court, including drafting charge sheets and court documents.
- Present the State’s case in court, including leading and cross-examining witnesses.
- Manage court proceedings and case flow independently.
- Handle appeals and reviews, providing legal opinions and arguments.
- Mentor and guide investigators and junior prosecutors.
- Collaborate with partners in the criminal justice system to enhance community engagement.
What You’ll Need
- An LLB or an appropriate legal qualification for serving prosecutors.
- At least five years of post-qualification legal experience.
- Demonstrated experience in litigation, particularly with common law offences.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
- Proven ability to work independently and maintain professional credibility.
- Familiarity with laws such as the Companies Act, POCA, and FICA is advantageous.
- Strong drafting and legal research skills.
