What You’ll Do
- Assess and manage speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients of all ages.
- Coordinate and oversee the Speech Therapy department’s services at a district level.
- Participate in collaborative discussions with multi-disciplinary teams to enhance patient care.
- Manage stock and order necessary consumables for the department.
- Complete weekly statistics and service reports as required.
- Maintain and pursue your professional development through in-service training.
- Conduct performance reviews to ensure continuous improvement and quality service delivery.
What You’ll Need
- A relevant qualification that allows for registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Speech Therapist and Audiologist or Speech Therapist.
- Registration with the HPCSA as required.
- For Grade 1: No experience needed after registration for RSA-qualified applicants; one year of relevant experience for foreign-qualified applicants.
- For Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience after HPCSA registration.
- For Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years of relevant experience after HPCSA registration.
- Valid (Code B/EB) driver’s license and willingness to conduct outreach to other primary health care facilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and proficiency in MS Office applications.
