What You’ll Do

• Assist social workers in providing comprehensive social work services to individuals and families in need.
• Support the implementation of departmental programs aimed at enhancing social welfare.
• Participate in professional development activities to improve skills and knowledge in social auxiliary work.
• Perform administrative tasks to aid social workers in managing their caseloads effectively.
• Help address issues that could lead to social instability by providing direct support to clients.
• Maintain accurate records and compile reports on social work activities and client needs.

What You’ll Need

• A Grade 10 qualification and completion of the SAW learnership for registration as a Social Auxiliary Worker with the SACSSP.
• Current registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP) as a Social Auxiliary Worker.
• A valid code B driving license.
• Knowledge of human behavior, social issues, and the South African social welfare context.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency in computer literacy and report writing.
• Ability to work collaboratively with social workers and multi-sectoral teams.
• Problem-solving and analytical skills to address client needs effectively.
