What You’ll Do

• Provide specialized social welfare and community development services within defined areas of expertise.
• Manage service delivery areas to ensure effective and efficient service provision.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and plan community programs and interventions.
• Conduct and oversee social welfare and community development research.
• Supervise administrative functions and ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
• Stay informed about developments in the social welfare field to enhance service delivery.
• Lead and manage a team of social workers, providing guidance and support.

What You’ll Need

• A formal tertiary qualification in Social Work, such as a Bachelor of Social Work, enabling professional registration with SACSSP.
• Mandatory registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP) as a Social Worker.
• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in social work post-registration.
• Strong knowledge of social welfare legislation, community development theories, and assessment tools.
• Excellent skills in project planning, people management, communication, and problem-solving.
