What You’ll Do
- Provide social work services to individuals, families, and groups in need of support and protection.
- Facilitate case work, group work, and community work programs to address social issues.
- Supervise and support Social Auxiliary Workers in their professional development.
- Stay informed about and implement new developments in social welfare and social work practices.
- Perform necessary administrative functions associated with your role.
- Engage in continuous professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge.
What You’ll Need
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work (Bachelor of Social Work) that allows for professional registration.
- Registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions as a Social Worker.
- Experience requirements vary by grade:
- Grade 1: No experience required.
- Grade 2: Minimum of 10 years’ experience post-registration.
- Grade 3: Minimum of 20 years’ experience post-registration.
- Grade 4: Minimum of 30 years’ experience post-registration.
- Strong knowledge of social work theories, interventions, and relevant legislation.
- Excellent communication, report-writing, and problem-solving skills.
- A commitment to advocating for and empowering individuals and communities.
