What You’ll Do

• Provide social work services to individuals, families, and groups in need of support and protection.
• Facilitate case work, group work, and community work programs to address social issues.
• Supervise and support Social Auxiliary Workers in their professional development.
• Stay informed about and implement new developments in social welfare and social work practices.
• Perform necessary administrative functions associated with your role.
• Engage in continuous professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge.

What You’ll Need

• A relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work (Bachelor of Social Work) that allows for professional registration.
• Registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions as a Social Worker.
• Experience requirements vary by grade:
• Grade 1: No experience required.
• Grade 2: Minimum of 10 years’ experience post-registration.
• Grade 3: Minimum of 20 years’ experience post-registration.
• Grade 4: Minimum of 30 years’ experience post-registration.
• Strong knowledge of social work theories, interventions, and relevant legislation.
• Excellent communication, report-writing, and problem-solving skills.
• A commitment to advocating for and empowering individuals and communities.
