What You’ll Do

  • Administer the payment of staff salaries and allowances with precision.
  • Conduct calculations for overpayments and underpayments in salaries.
  • Manage stop order deductions from employee salaries.
  • Ensure the safe custody and confidentiality of salary-related documents.
  • Oversee the performance and daily activities of personnel within your unit.

What You’ll Need

  • A Matric certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • A three-year degree or diploma in Financial Management, Accounting (NQF6/7), or a similar qualification with Accounting as a module.
  • Between three to five years of experience in a Salary Administration environment, with at least two years in a supervisory role.
  • An Introduction to PERSAL certificate and a salary administration certificate are required.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and the Basic Conditions of Employment Act.
  • Proficiency in computer applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and familiarity with government systems like PERSAL.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and manage conflicts.
