What You’ll Do

  • Manage and supervise the work of lower-level prosecutors and trainees.
  • Train and guide prosecutors in preparing case dockets and conducting criminal proceedings.
  • Represent the State in all courts, presenting the case effectively and addressing the court on critical matters.
  • Attend to representations and complaints, ensuring transparency and fair treatment.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Prosecutor and the Director of Public Prosecutions on strategic goals.
  • Promote community involvement and partnership integration within the criminal justice system.
  • Perform administrative duties in accordance with the NPA’s policy directives and code of conduct.

What You’ll Need

  • An LLB degree or an appropriate legal qualification for serving prosecutors seeking promotion.
  • A minimum of eight years of post-qualification legal experience.
  • At least five years of experience in legal practice is an added advantage.
  • Demonstrable competency in acting independently, professionally, and with credibility.
  • Strong management skills to guide and train prosecutors.
  • Proficiency in prosecuting and guiding investigations of complex common law and statutory offences.
  • Ability to draft charge sheets and complex court documents.
  • Excellent administrative skills and the capacity to work without constant supervision.
