What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate in the development of health and safety policies and guidelines in line with the Health & Safety Act.
  • Compile the emergency evacuation policy, management plan, and operational plan for occupational health and safety.
  • Prepare and submit reports to internal stakeholders on health and safety matters.
  • Facilitate and conduct health and safety training sessions for staff and students.
  • Coordinate regular occupational health and safety risk assessments through site inspections.
  • Provide expert advice on occupational health and safety regulations and practices.
  • Ensure compliance with the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) and college policies.

What You’ll Need

  • Grade 12 / Matric / Level 4 Certificate.
  • An appropriate National Diploma or Degree in Safety Management.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in an occupational health and safety environment.
  • Proficiency in computer literacy.
  • A valid driver’s licence.
  • Knowledge of the CET Act, COIDA, and Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993.
  • Familiarity with OHSAS 18001 Management system.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving, planning, organising, and analytical skills.
  • Competence in report writing and presentation skills.
