What You’ll Do
- Provide operative and outpatient consulting services in Urology.
- Manage specialist urological patients at Groote Schuur and associated hospitals.
- Perform major urological surgeries, including laparoscopic, trauma, endourological, and oncological procedures.
- Oversee day surgery, surgical clinics, and surgical emergencies.
- Organise and contribute to surgical skills training courses for medical staff.
- Participate in undergraduate and postgraduate training and research projects within the Division of Urology.
What You’ll Need
- An appropriate qualification allowing registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Specialist in Urology.
- Registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Specialist in Urology.
- For Grade 1: No experience after registration.
- For Grade 2: A minimum of 5 years of experience in Urology after registration.
- For Grade 3: A minimum of 10 years of experience in Urology after registration.
- Competencies in Adult and Paediatric Urology, renal transplantation, and related surgical procedures.
- Research experience in Urology is highly desirable.
