About the Role

The Office of the Premier in Mmabatho is seeking a dedicated Senior Employee Health & Wellness Practitioner. This pivotal role focuses on promoting and ensuring the health and well-being of employees within the public service. As a Senior Practitioner, you will implement and enforce policies that govern Employee Health and Wellness (EHW), directly impacting the lives of many individuals in our community. In this role, you will address crucial health issues, including the management of HIV & AIDS and TB, while providing vital support for wellness management aspects. Your contributions will be instrumental in managing workplace violence, including gender-based violence, and promoting sports and recreational activities. By ensuring the effective functioning of the EHW Committee, you will play a key part in marketing and advocating for the role of EHW, making a significant difference in the lives of your colleagues and the wider community.

What You’ll Do

  • Implement and monitor compliance with EHW policies and standards
  • Manage health initiatives related to HIV & AIDS and TB within the office
  • Provide support for wellness management and health productivity services
  • Oversee bereavement and workplace violence management, including gender-based violence
  • Facilitate the effective operation of the EHW Committee
  • Conduct needs assessments and manage health support for infected and affected employees
  • Offer direct EHW services and training to relevant stakeholders
  • Perform diagnostic assessments, short-term interventions, and follow-up services

What You’ll Need

  • A three-year tertiary qualification in Social Work or Psychology (NQF level 6 or equivalent)
  • Registration with SACSSP as a Social Worker or with HPCSA as a Registered Counsellor
  • A minimum of two years’ relevant experience in employee health and wellness, with at least one year at a supervisory level
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Employee Health and Wellness Strategy for the Public Service and related policies
  • Strong counselling, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Proficiency in computer skills and excellent interpersonal relations
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
  • Planning, organizing, analytical, and facilitation skills
