What You’ll Do
- Render social work services focused on the care, support, and protection of vulnerable individuals, families, and communities.
- Engage in casework, group work, and community work to promote the well-being of those in need.
- Supervise and mentor social auxiliary workers, fostering their continuous professional development.
- Stay informed about new developments in social work and welfare to enhance service delivery.
- Manage administrative functions related to social work responsibilities.
What You’ll Need
- A relevant Bachelor of Social Work qualification that allows for registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions.
- Registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions as a Social Worker.
- Experience requirements vary:
- Grade 1: No experience required.
- Grade 2: Minimum of 10 years of experience post-registration.
- Grade 3: Minimum of 20 years of experience post-registration.
- Grade 4: Minimum of 30 years of experience post-registration.
- A valid Code B driving license.
- Competencies in social work theory, human behaviour, and relevant legislation.
- Strong skills in communication, report writing, planning, problem-solving, and client orientation.
