What You’ll Do

  • Manage and design formal education curriculum programs for offenders in accordance with SAQA standards.
  • Develop strategies for the rollout of formal education and training programs, ensuring adherence to departmental policies.
  • Oversee the administration of formal curriculum and skills development programs for offenders.
  • Conduct research and development to support effective program implementation.
  • Identify risk factors and implement monitoring and evaluation strategies for education and skills development initiatives.
  • Manage human resources, financial assets, and performance information related to educational programs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance training initiatives and ensure the success of the educational framework.

What You’ll Need

  • An undergraduate qualification (NQF level 7) in Education, Social Sciences, or a related field as recognized by SAQA.
  • A Senior Management Services (SMS) certificate from the National School of Government (NSG) is mandatory.
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in a middle or senior managerial role within a similar environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the South African Criminal Justice System and Correctional Services.
  • Proficiency in computer software and a valid driver’s license.
  • Strong analytical, project management, and communication skills, including the ability to develop policies and reports.
