What You’ll Do

• Manage the design, implementation, and evaluation of social work services and programs in alignment with relevant legislation and departmental policies.
• Oversee social support services and ensure effective coordination of outreach programs addressing psychosocial issues.
• Facilitate social work research initiatives to inform best practices and service delivery.
• Liaise with external stakeholders to enhance collaboration and stakeholder engagement in social work services.
• Manage human resources, finances, and performance information, ensuring the effective operation of the department.

What You’ll Need

• An undergraduate qualification (NQF level 7) in Social Work or an equivalent field recognized by SAQA.
• A minimum of five years of experience in a middle/senior managerial role within a similar environment.
• Registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP) as a Social Worker.
• A certificate for entry into the Senior Management Services (SMS) from the National School of Government (NSG).
• Strong knowledge of the South African Criminal Justice System and Correctional Services framework.
• Proficiency in computer skills and a valid driver’s license.
