What You’ll Do

• Perform access control functions to ensure only authorized personnel enter the premises
• Confirm visitor appointments and direct them to the appropriate service points
• Maintain and complete admission control registers and issue necessary documents
• Operate metal detectors and other security equipment for effective access control
• Monitor CCTV and report security breaches to the Supervisor
• Conduct patrols throughout the building and respond to any security incidents
• Ensure compliance with security policies and procedures
• Liaise with emergency services as necessary during critical incidents
• Keep accurate records of all incidents in the occurrence books/registers

What You’ll Need

• Grade 10 (ABET level 3) or equivalent qualification recognized by SAQA
• Basic Security Officer’s course and a valid PSIRA certificate (Grade C)
• A minimum of one year of experience in the security industry
• Valid driver’s license is an added advantage
• Knowledge of access control procedures and relevant legislation
• Strong interpersonal, client service, and communication skills
• Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Competence in using computer systems and security technology
