What You’ll Do
- Perform access control functions to ensure only authorized personnel enter the premises
- Confirm visitor appointments and direct them to the appropriate service points
- Maintain and complete admission control registers and issue necessary documents
- Operate metal detectors and other security equipment for effective access control
- Monitor CCTV and report security breaches to the Supervisor
- Conduct patrols throughout the building and respond to any security incidents
- Ensure compliance with security policies and procedures
- Liaise with emergency services as necessary during critical incidents
- Keep accurate records of all incidents in the occurrence books/registers
What You’ll Need
- Grade 10 (ABET level 3) or equivalent qualification recognized by SAQA
- Basic Security Officer’s course and a valid PSIRA certificate (Grade C)
- A minimum of one year of experience in the security industry
- Valid driver’s license is an added advantage
- Knowledge of access control procedures and relevant legislation
- Strong interpersonal, client service, and communication skills
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Competence in using computer systems and security technology
