What You’ll Do
- Execute access control in compliance with the Control of Access to Public Premises and Vehicles Act.
- Conduct positive identification checks for employees, visitors, and contractors.
- Register and electronically search individuals at the security access point.
- Authorize entry into the premises after ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.
- Confirm visits and ensure escorting of guests in line with security protocols.
- Maintain necessary visitor registers and check suppliers and articles before entry.
- Patrol buildings and fenced areas while guarding vehicles and equipment.
- Inspect security equipment and facilities, reporting any deficiencies to senior personnel.
- Perform various administrative duties related to security activities.
What You’ll Need
- Competency in the core functions of the role.
- Proficiency in English and one other official South African language.
- South African citizenship with valid documentary proof.
- A Grade 10/Standard 8/NCV Level 2 certificate (NQF Level 2).
- Valid registration with the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA) and a Grade C security certificate or higher.
- Willingness to undergo firearm competency training and maintain competency.
- A valid driver’s license for light motor vehicles is advantageous.
- Flexibility to work shifts and extended hours.
- Knowledge of access control procedures and security measures.
