What You’ll Do

• Provide strategic leadership to ensure effective management of the correctional region.
• Oversee the implementation of care programs that focus on the well-being of offenders.
• Manage the development and execution of correctional programs aimed at correcting offending behavior.
• Ensure the provision of security services for personnel, service providers, and the public.
• Collaborate with stakeholders in the Justice, Crime Prevention, and Security cluster.
• Implement and manage aftercare services for offenders post-release.
• Conduct effective risk management to ensure compliance with departmental policies.
• Supervise human resources, financial management, and performance information for the region.

What You’ll Need

• A postgraduate qualification (NQF level 8) in Public Administration, Law, Criminology, Social Sciences, or an equivalent recognized qualification.
• A certificate for entry into the Senior Management Services (SMS) from the National School of Government (NSG) is mandatory prior to appointment.
• 8-10 years of experience at a senior managerial level within a relevant field.
• Strong knowledge of the South African correctional system and the functioning of the Criminal Justice System.
• Proficiency in computer applications and a valid driver’s license.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
