What You’ll Do

  • Provide comprehensive diagnostic ultrasound services with a focus on Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
  • Conduct abdominal and other ultrasound studies as required.
  • Offer outreach sonography services to clinics in the district.
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure excellent patient care.
  • Manage patient records and maintain accurate statistics.
  • Supervise and mentor colleagues, including midwives, doctors, and radiographers.
  • Participate actively in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programs as both a trainer and learner.

What You’ll Need

  • Appropriate qualification for registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) in Ultrasound/Radiography.
  • HPCSA registration as an Ultrasound Radiographer.
  • Relevant experience based on the grade applied for (Grade 1: none required; Grade 2: minimum 10 years; Grade 3: minimum 20 years).
  • A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the Sub District.
  • Computer literacy in word processing and data management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team.
  • Thorough knowledge of ante-natal, Doppler, paediatric, gynaecological, and abdominal ultrasound techniques.
