What You’ll Do
- Provide comprehensive diagnostic ultrasound services, focusing on Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
- Conduct outreach sonography services to local clinics as required.
- Collaborate as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure effective patient care.
- Manage patient service processes, including appropriate referrals and equipment management.
- Maintain accurate case records and statistics for quality assurance.
- Supervise, mentor, and assess the performance of colleagues, including midwives and radiographers.
- Participate actively in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programs as both a trainer and learner.
What You’ll Need
- Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) in Ultrasound/Radiography.
- Registration with HPCSA as an Ultrasound Radiographer.
- Relevant experience required varies by grade:
- Grade 1: None for RSA-qualified employees; one year for foreign-qualified employees.
- Grade 2: Minimum of 10 years for RSA-qualified employees; 11 years for foreign-qualified employees.
- Grade 3: Minimum of 20 years for RSA-qualified employees; 21 years for foreign-qualified employees.
- Valid (Code B/EB) Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel within the sub-district.
- Computer literacy in word processing, data management, and analysis.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with good interpersonal skills.
- Thorough knowledge of various ultrasound studies, including ante-natal, Doppler, paediatric, gynaecological, and abdominal imaging.
