The Department of Health is seeking a dedicated Radiation Oncology Radiographer (Radiotherapist) to join their team at the EThekwini Oncology Complex, which includes the Inkosi Albert Luthuli Central Hospital and Addington Hospital. What You’ll Do

• Undertake basic radiation planning and treatment preparation, including tumor localization and graphic planning
• Perform brachytherapy planning and treatment procedures
• Collaborate with physicists, oncologists, oncology nurses, and patients to ensure optimal care
• Safely operate and maintain treatment accessories and immobilization devices
• Conduct dosimetry checks prior to treatment delivery
• Maintain accurate records of radiotherapy treatment courses
• Serve as a Health and Safety Representative
• Provide after-hours support and rotate between the Radiotherapy departments of both hospitals as needed

What You’ll Need

• A Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Radiography
• Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Radiographer (Oncology)
• Knowledge of standard radiotherapy techniques, dose protocols, and relevant equipment
• Understanding of quality assurance in radiotherapy and radiation protection
• Ability to evaluate portal images, CT scans, and MRI scans for treatment planning
• Good interpersonal skills and basic supervisory abilities
• Capacity to work effectively in a team and provide quality patient care
