What You’ll Do
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the stores, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
- Execute the Logistics plan, adhering to policies and internal procedures set by the HQ Commander.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all equipment within the stores.
- Process the write-off of unserviceable equipment and manage its transfer to the unserviceable store.
- Issue equipment using vouchers and manage stock levels diligently.
- Receive incoming stock, verifying quantities against the receipt vouchers and updating the main ledger.
- Place orders for new equipment as stock levels dictate.
- Ensure that the stores are well-organized, facilitating stock taking and disposal of unnecessary items.
- Maintain an updated control register to monitor stock distribution and levels.
- Handle general administrative duties, including distributing relevant correspondence and archiving according to regulations.
What You’ll Need
- A minimum of Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or an equivalent qualification.
- No prior experience is required for this position.
- Knowledge of clerical duties and practices, with the ability to capture data effectively.
- Proficiency in operating a computer and collecting statistics.
- Understanding of the legislative framework governing the Public Service.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally.
- Competence in various languages is an advantage.
