What You’ll Do

  • Enforce road traffic regulations and public transport legislation.
  • Examine driver licenses and conduct vehicle inspections at testing stations.
  • Provide visible traffic control and support crime prevention initiatives.
  • Carry out various administrative duties related to law enforcement.
  • Collaborate with other departments and agencies to ensure compliance.

What You’ll Need

  • Matric Certificate or Grade 12.
  • A valid code B driving license with manual transmission.
  • Traffic Officer Diploma accredited by a recognized Traffic Training Institution.
  • Computer literacy and the ability to perform under strenuous conditions.
  • SAPS Clearance Certificate with no criminal record or pending cases.
  • Strong knowledge of road traffic and public transport legislation.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively in at least two of the provincial official languages.
  • Medical fitness and a willingness to be vetted.
