What You’ll Do
- Provide strategic leadership and management for the GCIS Provincial Directorate in the Free State.
- Develop and implement communication campaigns in line with national and provincial frameworks.
- Advocate for government communication standards among local government communication systems.
- Build and maintain partnerships with provincial stakeholders from government and civil society.
- Actively participate in communication forums, providing strategic direction in urgent communication situations.
- Identify and manage strategic risks, ensuring compliance with government communication regulations.
- Oversee audit planning processes and respond to audit queries effectively.
What You’ll Need
- An appropriate Bachelor’s Degree (NQF level 7) in Communication, Media Studies, Journalism, Public Relations, or Development Communication.
- Completion of the Public Service Senior Management Leadership Programme (Nyukela certificate) as endorsed by the National School of Government.
- A valid driver’s license and proficiency in computer applications.
- A minimum of five years’ experience in middle to senior management roles, with a focus on development communication.
- Proven leadership capabilities along with strong interpersonal and project management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of the Free State Province, including socio-economic dynamics and communication strategies at municipal levels.
