What You’ll Do

  • Provide guidance and supervision in the implementation of nursing plans for quality patient care.
  • Implement and monitor standards and practices to ensure high-quality nursing.
  • Maintain constructive relationships with nursing staff and other stakeholders.
  • Efficiently utilize human, material, and physical resources in the ward.
  • Act as a shift leader when required, including overseeing both day and night shifts.
  • Advocate for patient rights and respond to their needs with empathy and professionalism.
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure effective and equitable nursing care.
  • Supervise the ward and assist with management duties as necessary.

What You’ll Need

  • A Senior Certificate (Grade 12) and a Diploma or Degree in General Nursing.
  • Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
  • Experience as a Professional Nurse:
  • Grade 1: None required.
  • Grade 2: Minimum of 10 years of experience after registration.
  • Grade 3: Minimum of 20 years of experience after registration.
  • Knowledge of relevant nursing laws, regulations, and patient rights.
  • Strong communication and report writing skills.
  • Competence in planning, organizing, and computer literacy.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
