What You’ll Do
- Assist in the dispensing of medicines and pharmaceutical services under pharmacist supervision.
- Receive, store, issue, and control pharmaceutical stock, ensuring proper stock levels are maintained.
- Aid in the packing and distribution of medications to various wards, clinics, and departments.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with Good Pharmacy Practice.
- Participate in quality improvement programs and medicine management initiatives.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of pharmacy and storage areas.
- Provide medicine information to healthcare professionals and patients as needed.
- Perform any additional duties as delegated by the Pharmacy Manager or supervising pharmacist.
What You’ll Need
- Grade 12 (Senior Certificate) or equivalent qualification.
- Registration with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) as a Pharmacist Assistant (Post Basic).
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Pharmacist Assistant (Post Basic) for Grade 2 applicants, and a minimum of 13 years for Grade 3 applicants.
- Knowledge of the Pharmacy Act, Good Pharmacy Practice, and pharmaceutical legislation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on teamwork.
- Computer literacy and the ability to work independently under pressure.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
