What You’ll Do

• Provide directions and supervision for the implementation of the nursing plan, ensuring quality patient care.
• Implement standards and criteria for nursing practice to enhance quality and safety.
• Maintain compliance with laws and regulations relevant to nursing and healthcare.
• Foster constructive working relationships with nursing staff and other stakeholders.
• Efficiently utilize human, material, and physical resources in the ward.
• Act as a shift leader when needed, taking charge during day and night shifts.
• Advocate for patients by promoting proper treatment and care, responding to their needs.
• Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team to ensure effective and equitable nursing care.

What You’ll Need

• A Senior Certificate (Grade 10) and a Diploma/Degree in General Nursing and Midwifery.
• Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse with Midwifery.
• For Grade 2 applicants: A minimum of 10 years of appropriate nursing experience after registration with SANC.
• For Grade 3 applicants: A minimum of 20 years of appropriate nursing experience after registration with SANC.
• Knowledge of nursing care processes, relevant legal frameworks, and patient rights.
• Strong communication and report writing skills.
• Competence in planning, organizing, and using computer systems effectively.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and compliance with health regulations.
