What You’ll Do

• Deliver specialized nursing care to patients in the operating theatre, adhering to professional and legal standards.
• Ensure efficient use of medical resources and maintain compliance with hospital protocols and policies.
• Support the Nursing Manager in maintaining high standards of nursing practice and patient care.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and training to enhance nursing skills and knowledge.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Manage documentation and reporting related to patient care and theatre operations.

What You’ll Need

• Basic R425 qualification or equivalent that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
• A post-basic nursing qualification in Medical and Surgical Nursing Science: Operating theatre technique or a relevant bachelor’s degree in nursing.
• A minimum of 4 years’ experience in general nursing for Grade 1 and 14 years for Grade 2, including at least 10 years in the operating theatre.
• Valid driver’s license (Code B/EB) and willingness to be on call after hours.
• Strong problem-solving, report writing, and communication skills.
• Basic computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
