The Department of Health is seeking a dedicated Professional Nurse Grade 1 to 2 (Specialty: Trauma) to join its team at Tygerberg Hospital in Parow Valley, Cape Town. What You’ll Do
- Assess and identify patient nursing care needs.
- Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans.
- Provide and supervise specialized clinical nursing care in the trauma unit.
- Educate and support nursing staff in best practices and procedures.
- Utilize available resources effectively for optimal patient care.
- Participate in continuous professional development and training.
What You’ll Need
- A Basic R425 qualification (diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent, allowing registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
- A post-basic nursing qualification in Medical and Surgical Nursing Science or a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is preferred.
- For Grade 1: Minimum of 4 years of recognizable nursing experience post-registration with SANC.
- For Grade 2: Minimum of 14 years of recognizable nursing experience post-registration, including 10 years with a post-basic qualification in trauma.
- Registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse.
- Willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to solve problems and make decisions.
