What You’ll Do

  • Assess and identify patient nursing care needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans.
  • Provide and supervise specialized clinical nursing care in the trauma unit.
  • Educate and support nursing staff in best practices and procedures.
  • Utilize available resources effectively for optimal patient care.
  • Participate in continuous professional development and training.

What You’ll Need

  • A Basic R425 qualification (diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent, allowing registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
  • A post-basic nursing qualification in Medical and Surgical Nursing Science or a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is preferred.
  • For Grade 1: Minimum of 4 years of recognizable nursing experience post-registration with SANC.
  • For Grade 2: Minimum of 14 years of recognizable nursing experience post-registration, including 10 years with a post-basic qualification in trauma.
  • Registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse.
  • Willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to solve problems and make decisions.
