What You’ll Do

  • Provide specialized clinical nursing care in the maternity unit.
  • Identify nursing needs and create comprehensive nursing care plans.
  • Supervise and support nursing staff in both surgical and medical procedures.
  • Maintain high professional standards and encourage growth among colleagues.
  • Ensure resource efficiency in the delivery of healthcare services.
  • Uphold ethical practices in accordance with relevant legislation and protocols.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance patient care within the Obstetrics department.

What You’ll Need

  • Basic R425 qualification or an equivalent qualification allowing registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse.
  • A post-basic qualification in Advanced Midwifery and Neonatal Nursing Science.
  • For Grade 1: Minimum of 4 years of nursing experience post-registration.
  • For Grade 2: Minimum of 14 years of nursing experience, with at least 10 years in Advanced Midwifery and Neonatology.
  • Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Professional Nurse.
  • Knowledge of relevant health legislation and policies.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
