The Department of Health is seeking a passionate and skilled Professional Nurse Grade 1-2 to join its dedicated team at Rob Ferreira Hospital in the Ehlanzeni District and Witbank Hospital in the Nkangala District. What You’ll Do
- Provide holistic nursing care that meets established professional and legal standards.
- Deliver comprehensive health services in the Advanced Psychiatry Unit.
- Manage resources effectively to ensure efficient patient care.
- Participate in quality improvement programs to enhance healthcare services.
- Supervise nursing staff and implement patient care standards.
- Ensure compliance with Infection Prevention and Control policies.
- Maintain functional equipment and prioritize patient management activities.
- Engage in staff development and contribute to performance management.
- Report on patient safety incidents, challenges, and deficiencies.
- Foster constructive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, respecting diverse backgrounds.
- Uphold the Batho-Pele Principles and Patient’s Right Charter in all interactions.
What You’ll Need
- Senior Certificate / Grade 12 qualification or equivalent.
- Basic qualification accredited with the SANC enabling registration as a Professional Nurse and Midwifery (2026).
- A post-basic nursing qualification in Advanced Psychiatry Nursing Science (minimum of 1-year duration) accredited with the SANC.
- Grade 1: At least four (4) years of appropriate nursing experience post-registration with SANC.
- Grade 2: Minimum of fourteen (14) years appropriate nursing experience, with ten (10) years in Advanced Psychiatry after obtaining the post-basic qualification.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Good supervisory and teaching abilities.
- Capacity to work independently and prioritize effectively.
