What You’ll Do

• Provide specialized nursing care in the Operation Theatre, ensuring adherence to legal and professional standards.
• Deliver comprehensive health care services in the Intensive Care Unit.
• Manage resources effectively and efficiently to enhance patient care.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to elevate care standards.
• Supervise nursing staff and ensure implementation of patient care protocols.
• Ensure compliance with Infection Prevention and Control policies.
• Maintain equipment readiness and functionality for patient care.
• Prioritize and coordinate patient management activities as per established protocols.
• Engage in staff development and performance management.
• Report on patient safety incidents and challenges within the unit.
• Collaborate effectively with diverse teams and adhere to Batho-Pele Principles and the Patient’s Right Charter.

What You’ll Need

• Senior Certificate / Grade 12 qualification or equivalent.
• Basic nursing qualification accredited with the SANC under Government Notice R425 (Diploma/Degree in General Nursing) or equivalent.
• Registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse and Midwifery (2026).
• A post-basic nursing qualification in Operating Theatre Nursing Science, with a duration of at least 1 year accredited with SANC under Government Notice R212.
• Grade 1: Minimum of four (4) years appropriate nursing experience post-registration with SANC.
• Grade 2: Minimum of fourteen (14) years appropriate nursing experience post-registration, with at least ten (10) years in Operating Theatre after obtaining post-basic qualification.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to function independently and prioritize work effectively.
• Good supervisory and teaching abilities.
