What You’ll Do

• Provide interpreting services in high-profile cases across various courts.
• Manage administrative aspects related to court interpreters, including performance agreements and schedules.
• Translate legal documents and exhibits, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
• Supervise and develop junior and senior interpreters, providing coaching and performance assessments.
• Conduct research to enhance the quality of interpreting services and terminology development.
• Authorize payments and manage procurement of foreign language interpreters in line with relevant policies.
• Generate and report statistics related to interpreting services for departmental review.

What You’ll Need

• A National Diploma in Legal Interpreting or equivalent qualification at NQF level 6 (360 credits recognized by SAQA).
• A minimum of two years’ practical experience in court interpreting.
• Valid driver’s license is an advantage.
• Strong communication skills and computer literacy.
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining confidentiality.
• Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
• Customer service orientation with planning and organizing capabilities.
