What You’ll Do
- Wheel patients to and from wards, ensuring their comfort and safety
- Transport patients to various service areas, including the operating theatre
- Collect and transport corpses to the mortuary with dignity
- Deliver equipment, stores, and documentation to wards and departments
- Collect and deliver specimens as required
- Assist in offloading patients from ambulances and private vehicles
- Clean stretchers and wheelchairs after each use
- Report faulty or broken equipment to the supervisor promptly
- Maintain accurate records for corpses received and released
- Ensure proper identification and storage of corpses in the cool room
What You’ll Need
- NQF Level 3 (Grade 10 certificate or equivalent)
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to work shifts and under pressure
- Sound knowledge of customer care principles
- A caring and respectful approach to all patients and their families
