The Forensic Pathology Laboratory is seeking dedicated individuals for the position of Forensic Pathology Officer Grade 1 to 2, based in the beautiful coastal town of Mossel Bay, South Africa. What You’ll Do

• Recover, store, and process deceased individuals according to established protocols.
• Facilitate an efficient identification process and manage the release of the deceased, including handling associated property.
• Control and manage reports and statements throughout the forensic mortuary process.
• Provide support to the Manager regarding Corporate and Clinical Governance functions.
• Conduct forensic autopsies and manage specimens in line with professional standards.

What You’ll Need

• A Senior Certificate with Mathematics, Life Science, and/or Biology as passed subjects.
• For Grade 1: No prior experience is required; for Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience is essential.
• A valid Code B/EB driver’s license.
• Ability to interpret and apply policies effectively.
• Physical capability to handle corpses, including those that may be mutilated or decomposed.
• Willingness to travel long distances and work on standby or overtime as needed.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on discretion.
• Basic computer literacy, particularly in MS Word and Excel.
