What You’ll Do
- Wheel patients to and from their wards and various service areas, including the operating theatre.
- Transport patients to vehicles or other transportation methods safely.
- Collect and transport corpses to the mortuary with respect and dignity.
- Deliver medical equipment, supplies, and documentation to wards and departments.
- Offload patients from ambulances and private vehicles to stretchers.
- Clean and maintain stretchers and wheelchairs to ensure hygiene and safety.
- Report any faulty or broken equipment to your supervisor promptly.
- Render mortuary services by receiving and securely storing corpses.
- Keep accurate records of corpses received and released to next of kin.
What You’ll Need
- NQF Level 3 (Grade 10 certificate or equivalent).
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to work shifts and under pressure.
- Sound knowledge of customer care principles.
