What You’ll Do
- Wheel patients to and from wards and various service areas.
- Transport patients to vehicles or other transportation as needed.
- Collect and transport corpses to the mortuary.
- Deliver equipment, stores, and documentation to wards and other departments.
- Collect and deliver specimens as required.
- Off-load patients from ambulances and private vehicles to stretchers.
- Maintain cleanliness of stretchers and wheelchairs after use.
- Report faulty or broken equipment to your supervisor promptly.
- Render mortuary services, including receiving and recording corpses.
- Ensure proper identification and maintain accurate records.
What You’ll Need
- NQF Level 3 (Grade 10 certificate or equivalent) is required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to work shifts and under pressure.
- Sound knowledge of customer care principles.
