What You’ll Do
- Wheel patients to and from wards, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Transport patients to various service areas, including operating theatres.
- Assist in the collection and transportation of corpses to the mortuary.
- Deliver equipment, stores, and documentation to appropriate departments.
- Collect and deliver specimens as required.
- Offload patients from ambulances and private vehicles to stretchers.
- Maintain cleanliness of stretchers and wheelchairs after each use.
- Report faulty or broken equipment to your supervisor promptly.
- Provide mortuary services, including recording and storing corpses correctly.
- Ensure accurate identification and record-keeping of all corpses handled.
What You’ll Need
- NQF level 3 (Grade 10 certificate or equivalent).
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to work shifts and under pressure.
- Sound knowledge of customer care practices.
