What You’ll Do
- Wheel patients to and from their wards, ensuring comfort and safety.
- Transport patients to various service areas such as operating theatres and diagnostic services.
- Deliver medical equipment, supplies, and documentation between departments.
- Collect and deliver specimens for laboratory testing.
- Assist with the offloading of patients from ambulances and private vehicles onto stretchers.
- Maintain cleanliness of stretchers and wheelchairs after each use.
- Report any faulty or broken equipment to your supervisor immediately.
- Provide mortuary services, including receiving and storing corpses accurately and respectfully.
- Keep meticulous records of all patient and equipment movements for safety and accountability.
What You’ll Need
- NQF level 3 (Grade 10 certificate or equivalent).
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to work shifts and under pressure.
- Sound knowledge of customer care principles.
- A compassionate and respectful attitude towards patients and their families.
