What You’ll Do
- Provide professional leadership and effective management in the Operation Theatre.
- Communicate effectively with patients, supervisors, and healthcare professionals.
- Ensure proper utilization and supervision of all resources within the unit.
- Advocate for patient care and treatment while adhering to Batho Pele principles.
- Maintain clinical competence and implement scientific principles of nursing.
- Manage disciplinary, grievance, and labour-related issues according to established procedures.
- Formulate and participate in staff training and development programs.
- Monitor disaster management and assess the impact of service delivery frameworks.
- Coordinate health promotion activities and evaluate relevant data.
- Support Nursing Services Management by working flexible hours when required.
What You’ll Need
- Senior Certificate / Grade 12 and Basic R425 qualification (Diploma/Degree in Nursing) allowing registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
- A post-basic nursing qualification in Operation Theatre Nursing Science, accredited with the SANC.
- Minimum of nine years of experience in nursing post-registration as a Professional Nurse, with at least five years in the specialty.
- Three years of management experience in a relevant setting.
- Knowledge of nursing care processes, statutes, and relevant legal frameworks.
- Strong leadership, organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including negotiation and conflict handling.
- Basic computer literacy to support service delivery.
