What You’ll Do

  • Plan and conduct inspections to ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and relevant regulations.
  • Investigate incidents and complaints, finalizing reports and taking necessary enforcement actions.
  • Conduct proactive inspections according to a scheduled plan, including compiling and consolidating inspection reports.
  • Lead advocacy campaigns on labor legislation, analyzing their impact and reporting findings.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of regional inspection plans and statistical reports on cases.

What You’ll Need

  • A three-year tertiary qualification (NQF 6) in any of the following fields: Environmental Health, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Construction, Biology, Microbiology, Biomedical Sciences, Biotechnology, or Biochemistry.
  • A valid driver’s licence.
  • In-depth knowledge of departmental policies, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and other labor legislation.
  • Strong skills in planning, communication, and computer literacy, along with conflict handling and problem-solving abilities.
